Enkyu | Homuragumo | Santoku Knife | 165mm | Gray Plywood

[Ultimate sharpness forged by a swordsmith] Enkyu's Homuragumo series Santoku knife, 165mm

  • Maker: Saruwatari Toshiaki, a professional swordsmith from Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, known as the town of blades, created the Enun series. This luxurious knife incorporates the traditional techniques and spirit of Japanese sword making into a household knife.
  • Material: The core is made of "SPG2 (Super Gold 2)." This is the highest quality stainless steel, also known as powder high-speed steel, and boasts incredible hardness and wear resistance. It maintains an incredibly sharp edge for a long time and is rust-resistant, making it extremely practical.
  • Blade: The blade is 3mm thick, which is thicker than a typical kitchen knife. This thickness gives it a solid, sturdy feel and stability that is unique to the work of a master swordsmith. The "Flame Cloud" pattern created by the multi-layered steel has a depth reminiscent of a sumi-e painting, captivating the viewer.
  • Handle: Made of durable and water-resistant compressed plywood (gray). Its well-balanced design provides a comfortable grip and secure support for the 3mm thick blade. The subdued gray color adds a modern touch to any kitchen.
  • Uses: The 165mm blade of the Santoku knife is a versatile knife that can be used to cut meat, fish, and vegetables. Taking advantage of its moderate weight, which is not found in thinner knives, you will never want to let go of the satisfying feeling of cutting food with just a drop.

This supreme knife combines the spirit of a swordsmith with the finest modern steel, elevating cooking to the level of art.
