[A small giant forged by a swordsmith] Enkyu's Homuragumo series small knife, 135mm
- Maker: Toshiaki Saruwatari, a professional swordsmith from Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, known as the town of blades, creates the Enkyu "Homuragumo" series. These authentic Japanese knives are infused with the skill and soul of a swordsmith, and even professional chefs will be impressed.
- Material: The core is made of "SPG2 (Super Gold 2)." This is the highest quality powder high-speed steel, combining overwhelming hardness, sharp cutting ability, and rust resistance. The "Flame Cloud" pattern drawn by the multi-layered steel is small but powerful.
- Blade: The biggest feature of this knife is its compact size of 135mm, yet its blade is only 3mm thick. It does not bend like a regular paring knife, but has the rigidity of a Japanese sword. Its weight allows it to cut through tough root vegetables and small fish with stability.
- Handle: Made of durable and water-resistant compressed plywood (gray). The chic color accentuates the shine of the blade, and the handle provides a stable grip that allows for firm control of the 3mm thick blade.
- Uses: The 135mm blade length is ideal not only for fine work such as peeling fruit, but also as a secondary knife for cutting small pieces of meat or vegetables, or for making breakfast or bento boxes.
This is a highly capable small knife packed with the attention to detail that only a swordsmith can provide, and can easily handle tasks that would be too small with a paring knife.
