[The pinnacle of Sakai forged blades] Continuing the tradition of Japanese swords, Honyaki Ao-ni Steel (Mizu-yaki) Kamagata Usuba 240mm
- Uses: A large, sharp-pointed, sickle-shaped knife favored in the Kansai region. With a blade length of 240mm (8 sun), it can slice through large vegetables like cabbage and Chinese cabbage in one stroke, and its length allows for artistically thin "katsura" peeling.
- Material and manufacturing process: This is a "honyaki" (hon-yaki) specification, forged using only "Aoni steel" without using any other materials. It is almost miraculous to successfully "water-quench" a blade as thin as a thin blade knife and as long as 240mm, making this an extremely rare knife that can only be made by master craftsmen with the highest level of skill among Sakai's artisans.
- Design: The blade has a mirror-polished finish. The handle is made of the finest ebony and octagonal buffalo horn. Its overwhelming beauty and presence will give off an aura that will completely change the atmosphere in your kitchen.
The pinnacle of technique, materials, and beauty. Only select artisans are permitted to hold this precious sword, a tool that supports their divine work.
